Introduction to Truth About Makeup
Hello, and welcome to Truth About Makeup’s first blog post! We’re so happy to be here and invite you into our ethical cosmetic universe.
Our goal here is to bring you beauty brands that want to make the world a better place, with sustainable commitments and animal-friendly ambitions. We care about the planet, and so do you, so working with independent UK beauty brands who understand our ethical values is a must!
We’re launching Truth About Makeup to help you feel good on the outside as well as the inside. Spoilt for choice, with an abundance of beautifully crafted sustainable products on the market, beauty has never looked so good!
So, Who Are We?
Very good question!
Truth About Makeup was founded by beauty-lover and planet-admirer Liv. Inspired by a community of ethical beauty enthusiasts who want to use skincare and makeup products that are kind to the earth, Liv has spent the past year planning, researching, contacting, and setting up Truth About Makeup, ready to launch products into the world, leaving only positive footprints.
Liv is a makeup artist working in the TV and film industry, and after learning that palm oil was a large part of everyday beauty products, along with damaging plastic packaging, she decided it was time for a change. And so her consciously curated beauty business was born.
Why Truth About Makeup?
We’re so excited to welcome you on this journey, and we want you to be a part of this change. We want you to help us lead the way in reinventing beauty standards and participate in a makeup movement that will change the world for good.
While we can’t promise to be 100% sustainable, 100% of the time (can anyone?!) we’re going to try our best, and your support will help make that happen. So, what does our sustainability look like, we hear you ask?
Well, we work only with independent UK brands, whose handcrafted products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and palm-oil free too. All ingredients used are ethically sourced, and we make sure that our suppliers use packaging that is always, at the very least, recyclable.
How Does Truth About Makeup Work?
Each month we’ll be introducing a Product of the Month to the online shop, so there’s always something new for you to try. Our first collaborations are with independent UK brands Husk & Seed and Queenie Organics. You can read all about them and who they are in our latest blog posts.
Have a little peruse through our website which is currently stocking Queenie Organics and Husk & Seed’s skincare collection. From hydrating face creams, cleansing balms, and face masks, to bath soaks and lip balms, we love our very first offerings, and we think you will too.

When there’s something you like the sound of, pop it in your basket and place an order when you’re ready. Our suppliers will be notified immediately and will send it to your door in eco-friendly packaging. Just as a heads up, if you order from multiple brands, you might receive more than one delivery at different times.
Say Hello!
We’re new to the game, so we’d love to connect and say hello. Drop us a message, whether you’re an independent eco-beauty brand, or simply a lover of all things beauty and nature, we love a good chat.
We hope you enjoy the products as much as we’ve enjoyed curating them.
Love,
